The roots of
Marios Hairdressing
The story began in Naples in 1938 when Ugo set up the salon in his hometown with brothers Guido and, of course, Mario. A year later, the Second World War began. Ugo was drafted and taken as a prisoner of war at the battle of El Alamein in North Africa.
After there he was transferred to Brighouse, and this is where his English adventure would begin. There, he met his future wife Mary, but originally returned to Naples.
As they say, love finds a way. After Mary visited on a holiday to Naples, Ugo made his mind up. He decided to move to England to be with Mary. When he arrived, they opened up that iconic first hair salon, and the rest is history.
